The communication in the lead up to the move was poor. I emailed to update the list of items to be removed and received no reply. There was no confirmation in the day or two before the move. I therefore rang/texted in the morning of the move two different numbers and was told each time the removalists will be there at the set time. Then 15 minutes before they were due to arrive, they told me they were running late. They were even later than they expected because they went to the wrong address even though I had confirmed the address twice with them already.
The move itself seemed fine; only a bit of annoyance at the end when I had to drive back to my old property to pick up tools they had left. I was at least glad they did not charge for that time.
The final thing that made me most upset about these movers was that that night, I shifted my bed closer to the wall (they for some reason left it in the middle of the room rather than up against the wall - I was driving back to my old place at the time), a plank of wood fell out from under the bed. When I emailed about it I had to email a second time to even get a response. I was told that there was already a crack in the plank. When I went to lift the mattress to take measurements to fix this problem, I realised the rest of the plank was detached from the running fabric holding all the planks together. It was placed on top of the fabric, rather than under it like the rest of the planks. The only deduction that can be made is that the movers had damaged that plank, placed it on the bedframe anyway, covered it with the mattress, and finished the job and left without saying a word to me.
These removalists are dishonest, incompetent, unprofessional and unreliable. Strongly recommend paying more for better removalists.
